Assassins Creed is a series of action-adventure open world video games developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The first Assasin's Creed game was released in 2007, with the series concluding in 2016 with Assassins Creed Syndicate. In Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Ezio Auditore da Firenze travels to Rome during the Renaissance that he discovers an order of assassins led by his father. After spending years as an assassin, Ezio gradually forms a rivalry with the leader of the feared Borgia family, Rodrigo Borgia. Assassins Creed Brotherhood is an action-adventure game played from third-person perspective. Players may play the game's story cooperatively with either another player (singleplayer) or online (cooperative multiplayer), though the game is primarily intended to be played singleplayer. While playing, players may use various methods to solve problems that arise. A variety of tools are available, including the bow and arrows, sword, hidden blade, short blade and throwing knives (which can also be used with combat techniques). The protagonist also has access to a variety of firearms through weapons hidden in various places throughout Rome. The player may decide to take the role of the Mentor, who acts as a guide for the Assassin's progress. There are over 200 hidden collectible objects strewn across Rome that can be collected for points which are needed to unlock new equipment, weapons and additional abilities. "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood" features one main storyline that can be completed through gameplay, or through story-exclusive "side quests" which take place during the game's opening hours. These side quests typically require players to complete various tasks before they can access certain areas of the city or progress through the game. Completing these side quests opens up certain buildings that may not be available in normal gameplay, including the Santa Maria in Aracoeli, which is hiding the flying machine. To complete "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood", players will need to complete 70% of the game's story missions and 100% of the game's hidden collectibles. The Auditore family is introduced to Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who has arrived in Rome to deliver a letter from his late father. Ezio intends to leave the city for Florence once he completes his task, but before he can do so, he is assaulted by Rodrigo Borgia's guards and left for dead in the Tiber River. Ezio survives the attack and, upon waking, finds his father's letter contained in the pocket of the Assassin robes he wore during the assault. Ezio assumes his father has arranged for him to join the Assassin brotherhood, and resolves to follow his letter to its destination. However, when Ezio reaches the Villa Auditore he is told he is not an Assassin at all; he was just given a message for an "Alexius". Ezio realizes that Alexius must be Alexius III or Alexius IV, two men who were sent by his father to Sicily during his time in Rome, because only one of them could have known of where he would go after reading his father's letter. eccc085e13
